Hehe, you must have posted just as I did Si.

Looking good to see some colour on!

Looks like I did Russ,

Might have said this before but it is nice to have light AA that doesn't have me reaching for aftermarket.

It is good to get the spraying done, thought you would appreciate that mate.

will be glad to have all the light AA ton too, before I loose or break any of it.

Cheers

The etch really brings the 13.2's to life!

And that is one funky looking break water! Ah the French!

Today's progress.

The production line for the remaining quad 13.2mm.

ready for the etch.

and with the etch fitted, tricky to fold the seats and sights, but got there.

One of the things I like about this kit is that some jobs can be done on the sprue, the twin mounts.

and the anchor.

all the twin AA mounts ready for paint.

The etched breakwater around the fwd turret and its spots on the fret.

The supports on.

The breakwater being bent to shape.

More soon

Hi Si,

the very solid and professional progress one is used from the Heathwood's shipyard very nice work indeed. Absolutely concur with the anchor chains, they must not end somewhere on deck...

Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan,

Thanks for looking in mate, it is a bit of a schoolboy error, particularly as the rest of the kit is so good.

nice touch with the spurling pipe Si

Thanks Russ,

It always looks odd to me when anchor cable just ends on deck, and to be fair it was a simple fix, don't get too many of those.

A little progress this weekend,

Anchor cables.

The chain as provided.

painted XF69 Nato black.

One small fault on the kit, no spurling pipe, so a bit of drilling. Shown drilled on the central cable, the outer pair yet to be done.

All cables in place.

No paint on the turrets I am afraid, Sunday was a mix of snow & sleet showers, with the temperature in my outdoor spray booth barely above zero.

More at the weekend, I hope.

Cheers

Si

Gorgeous work so far, Si. Loving the work on one of my favorite ships.

Hi Charlie,

It is a great kit, looking forward to getting some paint on those gun mounts.

Thank you for looking in, and your kind comment.

A bit more progress yesterday.

Long week at work, so wimped out on the smaller sub assemblies and got on with some big bits

"A" Turret done.

Both main turrets done and test fitted.

The searchlights painted and fitted, along with a few other bits & pieces.

the remaining secondary turrets build.

The quadruple mounts test fitted.

An overview of the vessel so far.

I hope it will be warm enough to get the windy stick out next weekend.

Cheers

Si

Hi Michael,

They do look rather good though, I did the feeling that the locating pins on the bottom are a bit big.

one down ten to go.

This weekend, on with sub assemblies.

Thanks for looking in mate.

Those quad machine guns were very fiddly. Almost as difficult to mount as well. The ship's boats are looking good.

Sunday's progress

More work on the boats, etched trolleys fitted to two of the motor boats.

Fitted along with two open boats.

Still quite a few of these to do.

Plastic parts of the quad 13.2mm assembled.

And with the etch.

Quite effective but tricky to fold as the seats and sights are very fragile, and there is nothing to fix them to.

Started work on the main turrets for a break from the small stuff.

The Gun barrels fitted to the base, took a little feckling to get the barrels lined up with the ports in the gunhouse.

And the gunhouse fitted.

More after next weekend.

Cheers
